Energy Efficient Solutions
Elliptical has pioneered a next generation green IT solution for information technology infrastructure. The Company’s solution, micro-modular data centers, significantly reduces energy costs and capital expenditures for governments, organizations and managed service providers. Elliptical’s product line consistently achieves 95 percent energy efficiency and operates at a Power Usage Effectiveness Level as low as 1.1 (compared to industry standards of 30 percent and 2.8, respectively). In addition to high-efficiency, EMS products provide customers the ability to build and retrofit data centers faster and more economically, using a fully integrated modular design that requires less space with less environmental impact. These unique data centers fully replicate the functionality of conventional data centers while allowing end users the flexibility to customize and scale layouts for easier expansion or consolidation. The combination of energy efficiency and cost effectiveness results in 40 to 65 percent operating expense savings and 50 to 80 percent capital expenditure savings for businesses.
Exceptional Growth Potential
The Company’s growth and sales pipeline has been spurred by server hardware and application changes in the IT market. Traditional infrastructure architecture is not suitable to store, operate and maintain the high-density equipment used today. The drastic increase in the demand for computing and rise in energy use has left these data centers with difficult challenges. As such, the market has shifted to demanding flexible, modular and green data centers, led by IBM, Microsoft and Google. The $50.4 billion green data center market has grown, and is expected to continue to grow, considerably, as IT organizations invest in solutions which reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.
Elliptical also has the opportunity to grow in emerging markets. Gartner estimates 25 percent of businesses in India, mostly small to medium in size, hope to lease space in a third party data center. With Elliptical, these businesses will have the opportunity to avoid costly hosting fees and security risks by purchasing micro-modular data centers and custom-selecting the location of the unit. Other attractive growth markets for the Company include government services, disaster recovery and protective enclosures.
Experienced Management Team
Elliptical’s Management Team is comprised of experienced, talented professionals who have in-depth knowledge of the IT industry. Collectively, they have demonstrated the ability to successfully develop innovative solutions to modern IT problems and deliver solutions into both domestic and international markets.
The Company’s Chairman and Chief Technology Officer founded EMS in 2005 with foresight of the challenges which now face the industry. The Chairman brings deep industry expertise from his tenures at MCI and Blackboard, Inc. Collectively, Elliptical’s senior management team is comprised of established leaders with decades of leadership in technology, early-stage ventures, international sales and distribution channel development.
Established Distribution Network
Elliptical recognizes the preferences of its target markets and the many advantages of value-added resellers (VARS) and has strategically decided to distribute its products primarily through this channel. VARs bundle technology products and services together to add value for businesses which would otherwise have to expend considerable resources to package the appropriate products and services. VARs’ industry and product expertise helps ensure that Elliptical’s end users realize maximum value with each purchase. Currently, Elliptical has strategic agreements with 53 North American and 21 international VARs. Already, Elliptical’s products have achieved maximum exposure around the globe due to the VAR distribution network.
Intellectual Property Portfolio
The keys to Elliptical’s innovative products are its proprietary adaptive suspension technology and closed loop cooling system. The Company currently has nine domestic and international issued patents and another 19 pending. A product violates Elliptical’s patents if it a) contains a rack within an enclosure, has built-in suspension and is mobile via some means of self-propulsion; b) is an electronic enclosure which can be moved via a pallet jack or forklift; or c) is an electronic enclosure which is mobile and uses closed loop cooling. Elliptical has been first-to-market with its dedicated cooling system at the rack level and has aggressively executed broad patents to protect its technology and market position.
Industry-Wide Recognition
Industry experts have praised Elliptical for developing a green, cost-effective, innovative data center solution in the market. In September 2010, eBay named Elliptical as a finalist for its Phoenix Modular Data RFP., along with the likes of Dell. EDI Ltd., a leading data center design firm, published a case study which found that Elliptical’s RASER saves money, space and time when compared to a traditional healthcare data center design. Also, EMS was selected as a Top 3 Finalist at Interop (the largest IT show in the world) and a finalist for Arizona Technology Council Innovator of the Year Start-Up Company..
